WHITE STAR DOMINION LINE: OCEANIC POSTCARD
This was the ship on which Elizabeth Ann Rowlands Thomas and her son William Rowland Thomas were passengers travelling 2nd class in June 1910 leaving the family home in Altoona, Pennsylvania because of Elizabeth Ann's failing health to live in Wales. I recall being told by my father-in-law (William Rowland) some 40 years ago that as a baby he was a passenger on the Mauretania, which is why I have been unable until today, to find the relevant passenger records:
E A Thomas: Housewife
R Thomas: infant
Port of Departure: New York, New York, United States
Arrival Date: 22 Jun 1910
Port of Arrival: Southampton, England
Ports of Voyage: New York
Ship Name: Oceanic
Shipping Line: White Star Dominion Line
Official Number: 110596
Sadly, Elizabeth Ann died in Glynneath, Glamorgan, at her parental home on the 3rd October 1910, fourteen weeks after arriving in Southampton.
