DEEP DUFFRYN MINE

It was the Deep Duffryn Mine; Mountain Ash where many members of the Thomas, Rowland and Bowles families were employed, including William Henry Thomas (1852-1930) as an engine driver, transporting the coal whilst Thomas William Thomas, his son was a stationary engine driver at the pit head before emigrating to Pennsylvania in 1906.
